Recognition In Hawai'i
Mililani Trask is widely known as a sovereignty activist for Hawaiian self-determination. She served as the first Kiaʻaina (Governor) of Na Koa Ikaika o Ka Lāhui Hawaiʻi, which she helped found in 1987.
Mililani Trask has devoted herself to helping frame public policy that will produce solutions to Hawaii’s food and energy insecurity, stimulate economic growth and opportunity, meet the housing and education needs of the community and protect Hawaii’s natural and cultural assets. Running for election to OHA is the next step in her efforts to play an even more meaningful role in all of these areas.
