Lurline Naone-Salvador (Proprietor and Hawaiian Cultural Consultant at Kahili'ula Associates) supports Mililani:
Mililani Trask is my choice for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) trusteeship.
The State of Hawai'i has a significant role and strategic presence in our global environment. Therefore, it is imperative that our elected leaders are politically astute, experienced in international matters and committed to serving the people of Hawai'i.
Mililani Trask fulfills these requirements. For many years Mililani testified at the United Nations on various cases. She also spoke at federal, state, county and community forums on initiatives affecting Hawai'i and it's residents.
As a practicing attorney, she is able to assist OHA's efforts and decisions with her legal expertise.
Mililani was taught the Hawaiian traditions and cultural practices by her parents and kupuna. Their teachings were supplemented by 6 years of Hawaiian experiences at Kamehameha Schools.
Having the knowledge and understanding of Hawai'i's unique heritage and history are fundamental to the kuleana of an OHA trustee.
As a student and close friend of Mother Teresa, Mililani travelled to Calcutta for many years to visit and spend time with her beloved mentor. She accompanied and helped Mother Teresa care for the destitute, aged and sick. These trips were lessons in compassion, humanitarism, self-sacrifice and and ALOHA.
I have known Mililani since 1963, when we were 7th graders at Kamehameha Schools. Mililani lives and shares the spirit of ALOHA.
I believe that Mililani Trask will serve and represent us with that same spirit.
Me ka ha'aha'a.

Aloha,
My family has been in Hawai'i politics my whole life.
My father was a leader who always put people and the "small guy" first. His positions were not always popular among his peers. Despite this, he always got the job done. He was Mayor of Honolulu for 22 years.
I support Mililani Trask for OHA for these same reasons.
I have known Mililani for over three decades.
She is a conscientious and consistent leader.
She has been on the leading edge for native Hawaiian rights and has dedicated her life to the cause of Human Rights Internationally. Her work in the Hawaiian community, building Housing for Humanity, and the UN, prove her commitment.

Musical Producer and Writer, Kenneth Makuakane supports Mililani Trask:
Aloha family and friends,
I ask for your support to elect Mililani Trask for an OHA At-Large seat.
Mililani is a globally recognized indigenous leader with extensive experience in the United Nations. She has contributed to reforming public policy for water rights, public shoreline access and developing the State's renewable resources to achieve delivering affordable electricity. She's blazed trails for native Hawaiian rights and helped to steer the Hawaiian movement during its early days. While Hawaiian entitlements and nation building have become household words today, Mililani has forged nation building since back in the late 1980's with the creation of the first Hawaiian constitution under the proclaimed sovereign entity Ka Lahui Hawaii. Mililani worked with Mother Teresa in the House of the Orphan over a six year period and continues her international work today. This is the kind of leader we need to move OHA to its next level of attaining our Hawaiian settlements for our land assets and resources. Decisions at OHA impact all of Hawaii which is why we need a leader who has the legal and international training in making sound choices. I humbly ask for your vote for MILILANI TRASK for OHA.

Mililani was instrumental in helping to craft laws for the protection of ocean water, wai-fresh water, and public access to the shoreline, that benefits the people of Hawaii. Aloha Intelligent & Conscious Hawaiians!
I endorse and support Mililani Trask for OHA at large because she will ensure OHA meets their legal obligations to us. I’ve known her to be diligent, smart, trustworthy, and thankfully--- for the good of the Hawaiian people. I believe some of the trustees have used their positions that benefit a small few and sadly to the detriment of our people. I know Mililani will always ask the right questions, such as “how is this going to impact our people? And is it going to better their conditions? Will it help to sustain and improve our quality of life?” Mili has the heart, the vision, the integrity and the fortitude to lead us, as a people to a better Hawai`i for all. Make a positive difference, please cast your vote for Mililani Trask today, I DID!

Millilani is driven by a Hawaiian Spirituality and with that she also can come from her head of the Academic/intellect to her heart and bring 'feel' to any of the issues that she has to address, always remembering she is not there for her- self but her people.
Finally in a visit to Aotearoa I hosted her and her business partner driving them to Taupo and staying with them throughout their visit and in that time, I found a very different woman in Millilani, she was a vibrant and warm young woman, excited by the spread of our beautiful Aotearoa, I appreciated the learning, because I have held her in the highest of esteem.

“The trustees have a fiduciary duty to oversee the trust, so any skills or experience candidates bring to that task should count a lot.” Star Advertiser Friday July 18, 2014.
I truly believe OHA –and its beneficiaries—are fortunate that Mililani Trask has decided that it is time to once again lend her skills and experience to managing this vital trust.
The breadth of her international experience, her history of brave,
advocacy on behalf of Kanaka Maoli and her understanding of the challenges facing Hawaii and what we must ALL do to step up to them make her the kind of principled, pragmatic trustee OHA needs.
I understand Hawaii, the legacy of its painful past and the promise of its future better because of people like Miliani Trask.
I can think of few candidates with the kind of formidable intellect and unquenchable passion Mililani Trask offers to discharge the fiduciary duty of being an OHA trustee.
In doing right by Native Hawaiians, Mililani Trask will do right by all of Hawaii.
That is why ALL of Hawaii needs to make sure that Mililani Trask is back at the OHA table.

I know she will do her best to ensure OHA is using its resources to elevate the level or our Hawaiian people. Look at her life and you will see Mililani has always been at the forefront of our Hawaiian issues. I VOTE for Mililani for OHA and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

Aloha Kakou,
Mililani B. Trask is one of my many Hawaiian friends and fellow clean energy advocates, so it goes without saying that I support her for OHA Trustee at large.
Mililani knows all too well that our state and city government continue to fail us by standing up for and supporting the "Big Guy" instead of the "Little Guy". She has acted accordingly over the years and persevered as a Hawaiian activist, an attorney, clean renewable energy advocate, and United Nations expert on indigenous people of the earth, to help ordinary people everywhere, not just in Hawaii.
She is keenly aware of how residents are struggling to survive because we have the highest electric rates in the nation, as well as the highest shipping costs, the result of having monopolies in control of both.
Yet, our Governor and Legislature continue to support and protect these 2 egregious monopolies vigorously, to the detriment of our economy, and the financial stability of our businesses and families, some burning candles at night, cooking with wood, burning down homes in the process, choosing between food, health care, Etc. and electricity, with many businesses closing or unable to expand.
Mililani understands that this situation is no longer tolerable and not pono for our people, for our kupuna, or as a legacy to leave to our children and grandchildren.
She has tirelessly supported attorney John Carroll's ongoing efforts through his legal action to bring about an end to the HECO monopoly in particular and have it converted to publicly owned, non-profit power to help bring down electricity rates significantly for our residents and to ramp up our vast renewable energy resources, the development of which the HECO monopoly continues to block and stall every step of the way to protect itself from what has been described as its "death spiral" brought about by "disruptive" renewable energy technologies that have made its business obsolete.
John's breach of public trust lawsuit against the HECO monopoly and the State ( PUC, DCA, DBEDT, Governor Neil Abercrombie. ) was accepted by the court on May 29. He won the 1st battle, but the war has yet to be won. Mililani is a key part of our efforts to win the war.
Mililani provided us with an important venue, her Olelo First Friday Show on Feb. 7, to educate the ratepayers about why it became necessary to file this lawsuit, and she is prepared to do so again as the lawsuit moves forward.

Please help John Carroll to lower YOUR electric rates too by voting for Mililani as OHA Trustee At Large so she can continue her support in a broader capacity for the "Little Guy", both Hawaiians and non-Hawaiians alike, in this and other critical efforts, and at this critical juncture for Hawaii's future.

1) Your position on the current attempt by the state legislature to circumvent both the US and the state of Hawaii’s constitution reflects your intelligence and courage.
2) Being Hawaiian and having been active in promoting the rights of native Hawaiians is commendable.
3) You have a doctors of jurisprudence degree, which can be most helpful in the lawmaking process.
4) I am certain having twenty-three Hawaiian descendants that you will have the welfare of Hawaiians at the center of all you do.
Yours truly,
John S. Carroll

"The purpose for this letter is to express our full support of Mililani Trask in her decision to run for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) at Large seat. Her efforts continue to make a difference for our kupuna, keiki, and mo'opuna. She has been a champion for our people, and works tirelessly for a better future for all.
Mililani is one of the most brilliant minds in this day and age. As she comes from a family of educated, ethical and morally sound people, she emulates her father, and grandfather in the legal arena. More important, is her continued dedication to human rights, evidenced by her service at the United Nations. Her accomplishments defy superlatives.
In her service for the good of all people, Mililani has worked with the Dalai Lama, and Mother Teresa. Over the course of many years of hard work abroad, we are fortunate to have Mililani back home to help our people through very difficult times. Although controversial at times, it is people like Mililani Trask that provoke discussion, and keep centered, without being swayed by politics nor potential personal gain. This is where integrity, morals and values are important, and those qualities she holds and never waivers.
As a candidate for OHA, we have great hope that OHA will be brought back to the initial intent of the organization, with Mililani being elected to contribute to this process. In her first election, Mililani was elected by the largest number of Hawaiian votes cast in any election since OHA's inception. I sincerely hope history repeats itself.
To Mililani, mahalo for your contributions to our people, and may Akua bless you, guide you, and protect you in all future endeavors. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to kokua. We are all proud to be part of this effort, and proud to know you as ohana, and as a warrior for our people."

"I support Mililani because she has never allowed criticism to inhibit her fierce defense of the rights of native Hawaiians as well as other indigenous peoples. She has never allowed decorum to stifle debate if questions about Hawaii’s future hang in the balance. I support Mililani Trask 4 OHA!" -Coach Cal Lee
